Open meeting: Negotiating Improvements for the Working Carers of Adults

WERU researchers are participating in a research project with GFTU (General Federation of Trade Unions). Dr Patrick McGurk and Sheila Barrett will be contributing to an open meeting to discuss how society, and in particular workers, are being affected by the increasing pressure of caring for adults (parents, infirm family members and partners) whilst still in employment and building a career. This meeting will inform a Europe-wide project on the situation as far as the UK is concerned.The outputs from the project will be a comprehensive training programme, highlighting best practice from around Europe, including the business case for  supporting working carers.
