David Yeandle, ‎President of the United Nations Staff-Management Committee Seminar on the Question, “Have British Workers Benefited from EU Membership?”

In this lecture, David Yeandle will discuss the impact that the European Union has had on UK social policy and, in particular, workers’ rights over the last 25 years. David will then go on to examine how the UK Government and British stakeholders currently influence the development of EU employment legislation and also make some suggestions about how this could be improved so that it better supports the UK’s flexible labour market.

David Yeandle was previously Director of Employee Relations for the Engineering Employers Federation and is now a UK employer representative on the EU Commission.

The seminar, hosted by the University of Greenwich, will take place at the Greenwich Campus, Stephen Lawrence Building (Room SL101) on Wednesday 8 October 2014.
